Roxbury Treatment Center is a private 112-bed sub-acute detoxification/rehabilitation and psychiatric center located at the foothills of the scenic Blue Mountains. In our 60-bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision. The team of physicians and our around-the-clock nursing staff provide the needed assessment and care. The Recovery Program offers a professional approach to the treatment of chemical dependencies. Our treatment team includes Certified Addictions Counselors, Masters and Bachelors level clinicians, and nurses.

Our Military Initiative Program opened in June 2010 to treat active military personnel dealing with chemical dependency and mental health issues. The co-occurring program developed by our Treatment Team is a dynamic and multifaceted approach for this specialized treatment program.

Roxbury also has an acute psychiatric unit treating individuals with mental illnesses who need short-term hospitalization. This program specializes in treating adult patients who are suffering from co-occurring disorders mental illness and substance use/abuse issues. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program.

A new acute psychiatric unit treating adolescents between the ages of 13 - 17 recently opened at Roxbury. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program helping teens deal with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

Roxbury is currently recruiting a per diem Medical Records Clerk working Day shift, flexible work hours. While employees of Roxbury Treatment Center may be hired to work on a specific shift or a specific unit, please be advised that all employees are required to work on any shift and any unit as required by the business needs at any given time. This simply means that Roxbury will assign staff to work when and where the facility may have a need for their skills.

Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Prefer one year in medical records department and or clerical experience.

Position Summary:

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for filing, pulling charts, chart assembly, faxing discharge summaries, and any other clerical/administrative duties as assigned, in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Roxbury Treatment Center.

Knowledge:

Must possess good organization and time management skills, good interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player. Ability to communicate verbally, through telephone calls, and in writing. Must maintain certification in CPR, Verbal De-escalation and Handle With Care.

Environmental Conditions:

General office environment. Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste.

Physical Requirements:

Repetitive motions for typing and manual dexterity to access filing systems. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidence by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
