El asistente de bar es la persona encargada de asistir al bartender; sus prinicpales funciones son: Efectuar el mise en place de materiales, mantener en orden y aseo la parte de servicio (dentro de la barra), elaborar los adornos complementarios para coctelera y varios, en algunos casos prepara los jugos. En el momento del servicio auxilia al barman en servicio de gaseosas y cerveza, alista la cristalera y complementos del coctel. Recibe los pedidos del almacn contando cantidades y revisando calidad. En ciertos casos y segn sus conocimientos puede reemplazar al barman.
