Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Field Service Technician opening to join our Consumer and Appliance Care organization .
Day to Day
This position is responsible for the repair of products in the customer's home. Products repaired include the following home appliances: Washers & Dryers, Gas & Electric Stoves, Microwave Ovens, Dishwashers, Trash Compactors, Garbage Disposers, Refrigeration, and other home appliances. This position provides timely and quality repairs of customers' products while maintaining high levels of customer service. Additionally, technicians promote and sell additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the company.
We provide a service truck, fuel, specialized tools, uniforms, computer, cell telephone, and periodic training.
What You Will Do
Provide in-home service on the full line of Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air and Amana products ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty
Demonstrate a sense of urgency to meet customer time commitments
Meet key performance metrics and/or productivity goals as defined by the business
Provide repair cost estimates, and recommend whether appliance repair or replacement is a better choice
Continuously look for methods to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience
Follow the Value Added Services Process (i.e., selling extended warranties, water filters, etc.) by effectively communicating the benefits to the customer
Maintain truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards
Follow the truck maintenance schedule and keep a clean, organized truck
What You Need to Succeed
Major Appliance and Refrigeration Technology certification preferred
2 years of appliance repair experience preferred
EPA Refrigerant Type 1 or higher certification preferred
Strong customer service and negotiation skills
Must be a self starter and be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Exceptional communication and strong interpersonal skills, including written correspondence
Comfortable with mobile and tablet PC technology and strong ability to use and navigate common computer programs
Customer mindset and willingness to engage with diverse consumers
Keen perspective and the ability to provide individualized experiences across a diverse set consumers
Professional pride in maintaining appearance, equipment, vehicle, and tools
With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to lift or maneuver 50 pounds, and occasionally maneuver up to 250 pounds
Valid driver's license required
Weekend hours may be required
