The Administrative Specialst - Store Artist draws, paints, or computer generates illustrations and text for use by various media by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Creates printed media including, but not limited to, signs, flyers, brochures, posters, chalkboard drawings, ad copy (camera ready), and related materials
- Formulates concept and renders illustration and detail from models, sketches, memory, and imagination
- Selects type, draws lettering, lays out material, or performs related duties
- Draws, paints, or uses computer to create graphic material and lettering to be used for title, background, logo, and other visual layouts for printed media
- Other duties may be assigned
Requirements:
- Strong illustrating and rendering skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark XPress; Mac experience
- Strong lettering skills, i.e. calligraphy or hand lettering
- Typing skills and familiarity with commercial graphics
- Understanding of layout, composition design rules and color theory
- Ability to be self-managed with lots of imagination and creativity
- Work under minimal supervision; planning and organizational skills
- Handle multiple tasks and stressful situations; meet deadlines and maintain composure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, walk for distances, stand for extended periods of time, and move from standing to sitting quickly and frequently
