PURPOSE
This position is primarily responsible for the testing of all Floor & Decor software applications. The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and timelines of development tasks/projects. In addition, the IT QA Analyst will take the lead in creating and executing test plans to ensure development conforms to the desired quality standards. The IT QA Analyst is accountable for tracking defects and ensuring that programs are satisfactory for system and user consumption before promotions into the Production environment occurs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist in set up, implementation and management of HP Quality Center as the primary QA tool
• Develop and maintain testing standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent testing procedures
• Develop and document step-by-step test cases based on the system, software or business requirements
• Prioritize test scenarios and execute according to plan and within set timeline
• Ensure QA Lab’s hardware is fully functional and up-to-date with current software versions
• Identify, log, and track defects to resolution or acceptance
• Develop test scripts to automate manual repeatable tasks
• Provide reporting on defect tracking and escalate technical issues as needed

Job Requirements

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Three plus years of relevant experience required
• In-depth understanding of the various testing concepts (e.g. Functional, Regression, Integration, User Acceptance)
• Possess basic understanding of Waterfall and Iterative project management concepts
• Experience testing applications in accordance to required functionality and non-functional quality attributes (e.g. Availability, Performance)
• Experience writing test plans and test cases
• Ability to conduct manual and automated testing
• Experience with automated functional GUI test tools (e.g. HP Quality Center, Ranorex) and with programming languages (e.g. SQL, Java,)
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong project management skills
• Possess aptitude to identify ways to maximize operational efficiency
• Ability to anticipate user behavior or risks to systems
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must pass pre-employment background check

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)
• This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
