Position Summary:
On behalf of RTI International, Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking part time Field Interviewers for the RECOVER Study. The “recovery from substance use disorders” is a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. The RECOVER Study observes a person for the 12 months following their exit from a drug treatment program across the nation to assess their employment, health, family relationships, crime involvement, housing, and various social and psychological measures.

Training
Complete Protecting Human Research Participants web-based training in Mid-March 2016. This training is mandatory. Trainees must successfully complete training to continue employment on the project.
Pay rate will vary based on experience. Mileage reimbursed at $.54 per mile.

The Field Interviewer (FI) for the RECOVER Study will be responsible for:
- Travelling to adult respondents’ homes, administering instructions on how to complete a urine drug screen kit.
- Setting up and supervising an online survey on a study-provided tablet or laptop, and inputting data from a urine drug screen kit into a study form
- Providing participants with compensation for survey completion
Job Requirements
- Be available to work, on average, 15- 20 hours per week from February 2016 – December 2017
- In addition to daytime hours, be available and willing to work evening and weekend hours on a weekly basis throughout the project data collection period
- Have personal reliable transportation.
- Have strong attention to detail.
- Independently manage workload.
- Adhere to all project deadlines.
- Experience and comfort with tablets and laptops
- Ability to be empathetic, a good listener, eager to help, compassionate, professional and non-judgmental manner when interacting with participants with substance use disorders
- Ability to interact with persons of different racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and substance use/abuse backgrounds
- Respect respondent rights and maintain respondent confidentiality
- Ability to use maps to locate addresses
- Ability to obtain cooperation of hard-to-reach survey respondents by effectively answering questions and addressing concerns
