Primary Responsibilities:

The Admissions RN provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.

Job Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Licensed in Texas as a Registered Nurse required .

Three (3) years prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis stabilization experience with a psychiatric mental health population preferred. Must have ability to interact effectively with persons of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, those in crisis or resistant or negative toward the organization effective oral and written communication skills skills in analyzing and evaluating information ability to concentrate on tasks and meet deadlines basic data entry skills organizational, time management, problem solving, crisis management skills necessary flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress necessary. Understanding of EMTALA guidelines, mandatory screening agent usage, HIPAA regulations, and third-party payer knowledge preferred.
