Summary of Role: The Social Media Coordinator will plan and work on day to day executions of the social media strategy for Time Warner Cable’s local news channels. The successful candidate will develop campaigns and tactics that engage followers while promoting content on the networks that drive awareness, demand, and viewership to the channel, websites and mobile apps. He/she will play a hands-on role in managing Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram an
d other social media presences for the channels. The Social Media Coordinator must be well-versed in social media marketing and analytics and have strong editorial judgment and writing skills. He/she will champion social media efforts with other TWC areas as appropriate including Marketing, Communications, and Media Sales and others as required. He/She should be experienced in planning social media conversation calendars, writing tune in and marketing copy, and executing day to day ports across many social media platforms. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for local news and programming across the US.
Essential Job Functions● Oversee the execution of the social media strategy for Time Warner Cable’s local news in conjunction with a social media manager.
● Work with television producers, digital content producers, and marketing team members to develop copy, artwork, and video, that engage followers while promoting content on our channels and digital properties.
● Liaise with social media leads in other TWC areas to further reach efforts and support company-wide initiatives
● Manage day-to-day incoming and outgoing communication on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms for the local news, local sports, and local programming groups.
● Develop monthly conversation calendars across 10+ local news channels
● Write tune in and marketing copy for posts across all social media channels
● Compile metrics reports across social media channels.
● Work with Digital Content Producers to ensure applicable campaigns and tactics are successfully executed for editorial, marketing and sales business units.
● Build relationships and develop initiatives with network talent, partners, and influencers to amplify social messaging.
● Execute co-branded/sponsored campaigns.
● Keep a pulse on new trends, platforms, and best practices.
● Possess strong written and verbal communications skills.
● Be comfortable working in a fast paced environment
● Travel as required, depending upon project needs.
● Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:Knowledge & Experience
● 1 - 3 years of digital publishing experience, prefer at least 2 years of experience with social media working within a local sports, local news or local programming television environment
● Strong grasp of social media marketing tactics and a proven track record in developing and executing successful campaigns and talent, partner, and influencer outreach initiatives
● Understanding of social media analytics and SEO with the ability to make data-driven decisions
● Strong editorial judgment and writing skills with the ability to work for a corporate brand with defined policies/guidelines
● Experience with social media software (e.g. HootSuite, TweetDeck, Social News Desk) and photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop); knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus
● Passion for high school sports and news programming with experience in journalism and TV or print news

Formal Education & Certification
● Bachelor’s degree required
