POSITION PURPOSE
-


The Operations Senior Developer will work with peers and other application developers to support  production environments across the Home Depot enterprise.  Required technical skills include: Linux, shell scripting, experience in networking (ability to use basic network tools to help debug issues), operational experience with Tomcat/Jboss (logs, debugging, etc.) and Apache HTTPD.  Experience with Java and SQL is preferred. Role requires effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate complex concepts in an understandable and concise manner, comfortable interacting at all levels (peer to leadership), strong leadership skills to drive execution,  ability to organize and document information, a self-starter / motivated to identify and drive improvements without being prompted. 


Additional roles and responsibilities listed below:


•  Provide Level 3 support to internal business/corporate users for Documentum and Business process manager applications
•  Support training and development (mentor) middleware level 1 and 2 resources in the IT Operations Command Center.
•  Work closely with business in managing day to day issues and resolving user queries
•  Provide escalation support for level 1 and 2 associates during and after hours via call rotation
• Ability to communicate effectively and seamlessly work with different infrastructure (UNIX, DB, Storage, and Networking) /applications teams across the organization to resolve production issues
• Responsible for resolving user/system tickets created in Service-Now
• Coordinate upgrade/migration activities with product vendor (EMC/IBM) and provide related support



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -


• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field is preferred
• 2-3 years of experience in the skills listed below


Technical Skills: 

Java, J2EE, DAO, restful web services, Apache Tomcat, Documentum Administrator, Webtop, Documentum Foundation Classes, DQL, IBM Business Process Manager 8.0, IBM Process Server and Process Designer.

Operating Systems:

AIX, Linux and Windows

Databases:

Oracle, DB2, SQL Server and Apache Cassandra


• Knowledge of Documentum technologies which involves managing, configuring and administration of Content Server 6.7, Webtop, and Webpublisher
• Knowledge of IBM Business Process Manager, Process Center and Process Server
• Knowledge and experience in deployments, migrations and upgrade of IBM Business Manager Process Servers
• Ability to troubleshoot user issues by debugging the process application using Process Designer
• Strong skills in the areas of Site Caching Services, Content Services, DFC, DQL
• User administration/management with roles, groups, security on both Documentum and BPM areas
• Experience on integration of Documentum Content Servers/repositories with the Tomcat application servers using underlying Data Access Object/Documentum Foundation Class calls
• Ensure infrastructure has adequate capacity and are refreshed on a periodic basis
• Maintain system documentation and provide production metrics reporting
• Effectively perform and document root cause analysis of issues
• Understanding and knowledge on ITIL processes which involves Incident, Change and Problem management
• Knowledge on Apache Cassandra and UNIX shell scripting skills

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
-

Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.

Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.

Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.

Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.

Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.


NATURE AND SCOPE

Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance


ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
-

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.


EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
