BASIC FUNCTION: Perform ASME IX welding in SMAW, GMAW and GTAW on pipe, structural steel and plate. Must be familiar with stationary cutting tools, basic math, ability to read and understand engineering drawings, good communication skills and strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
SPECIFIC DUTIES: Ability to pass welding entry exam. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, handle large weldment assemblies and heavy and light steel fabrication and welding. Able to layout complex weldments without the aid of fixtures. Weld in all positions. Knowledge of general industrial construction. Knowledge of general safety requirements for industrial installations.
