About this job
We are currently seeking Field Machinist in our Orange, TX facility.
Job Responsibilities:
* Ensures compliance with safe work practices and environmental policies.
* Supports Structured Safety Program and other safety-awareness programs.
* Executes maintenance work as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman on all plant equipment including pumps, compressors, agitators and blowers, packaging equipment, relief valves, piping and valves, heat exchangers, etc.
* Enters at least 1 APT per week up to 4 per month.
* Identifies maintenance work and enters notifications in SAP, as part of daily work function.
* Procures parts from Stores, as necessary, for the completion of maintenance work
* Reviews job plans and provides feedback to Planner for any required updates
* Completes shop papers and job history forms accurately and returns them to Maintenance Foreman at the completion of the maintenance work
* Completes time ticket to reflect the actual time required to complete the maintenance work and returns to Maintenance Foreman for input in SAP
* Work with other plant functions, including I&E Technicians, reliability and operations, to meet plant operating goals.
* Perform assigned plant housekeeping duties to comply with plant procedures and requirements and the HOS 5S initiative.
* Keep and maintain job records as required by plant supervision and procedures.
* Ability to cover 'On Call' duties during the off hours.
* Trouble-shoot and analyze causes of equipment failures and recommend solutions to problems.
* Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
* Other duties and assignments as necessary
Basic Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED
* 5 years of experience working with precision machining equipment and measuring instruments
* 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment repairing plant equipment such as: pumps, compressors, agitators, blowers, packaging equipment, relief valves, piping, valves, and heat exchangers.
* 5 years of experience reading blue print drawings and fabricating parts within required drawing tolerances
Additional Qualifications:
* Working knowledge of Microsoft office
* Efficient with SAP software
* Ability to trouble shoot equipment and processes
* Machinist must be able to precision align equipment using dial indicators or laser alignment tools.
* Machinist must be able to install bearings on shafts and equipment using precision techniques to obtain proper clearances.
* Machinist must be able to read detailed drawings and fabricate basic parts and assemblies within the required tolerances identified on the drawings.
* Machinist must be able to read and use precision measuring instruments such as, but not limited to, calipers and torque wrenches.
* Machinist should be able to set up and safely operate a wide variety of shop equipment including, but not limited to, drill presses, milling machines, DoAll (or equivalent) saw, plate shears, hydraulic presses and other equipment pertaining to a Millwright and Machinist.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
