Pharmaceutical company located near Hauppauge seeks an experienced Label Inspector for their rapidly growing company!
This is a temp to hire position - ideal for someone who is currently NOT employed.
Training will take place during the DAY shift, Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
After two-three weeks, the shift will switch over to 2nd, Monday - Friday 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Label Inspector
Principal duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Inspects and releases all incoming labeling materials, using master overlays, UPC scanner, and visual defect inspection
- Documents releases on proper AQL paperwork for each incoming lot of labels
- Counts all incoming labels and returns and ensures proper storage in the assigned location
- Validates scanner and web technology daily and annually
- Stages labels for all packaging jobs which includes deduction of labels from inventory cards
- Documents label release in log book and files inventory cards
- Reconciles all packaging paperwork and notes if any corrections are needed
- Documents returns on inventory records
- Helps investigate inventory discrepancies as needed
- Supplies monthly/ quarterly inventory of labels for customers
- Maintains and organizes label rooms
- Assists in making samples for customers and marketing
- Label destruction / returns
- Issues IFC’s to packaging to the packing department
- Assist in the day to day duties of the department (copies, pulling paperwork, and batches, cleaning)
Label Assistant
- Creates initial AQL paperwork for each incoming lot of labels, and ensures the proper documents are attached
- Creates Current Approved/ Customer Approved Master Label / IFC forms (which overlays are made from)
- Documents all incoming labeling receipts in log book
- Daily Performance check on the Scan gun and documents results in log book
- Inspects and release label components using AQL paperwork (Final Release)
- Special customer request (i.e. scan packaging slips for Life Extension)
- Releases staged packaging jobs, and properly store them in the assigned location
- Assist in Blister Prints mat approvals
- Reconciles all packaging paperwork and notes if any corrections are needed
- Create/ Approves “Packaging Instructions” masters
- Maintains organized files of all approved proofs / customer approvals
- Supplies monthly/ quarterly inventory of labels for customers
- Assist in documenting returns on Inventory cards
- Assist in counting labeling when needed
- Label destruction / returns
- Checks IFC’s issued to the packaging department
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a related role
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Must be able to stand for an entire shift
· Must be able to bend, twist, and squat
· Must have good vision, aided by glasses if necessary
· Experience in pharmaceutical environment preferred
· In-depth knowledge of cGMPs, FDA, CFR requirements, and general safety
