Hastings Floor Managers are responsible for assisting with the m anagement of the store by supervising and executing corporate plans and actions, creating a positive team atmosphere and increasing sales by utilizing company financial reports. The Floor Manager is considered to be an on the job training position for the Manager in Training position.
Important duties of the Floor Manager on a day-to-day basis include training and managing assigned staff, overseeing operations for all three areas (Books, Video, Recreation and Lifestyles), developing strategies to improve sales and merchandising as well as creating a sales culture in the store. Floor Managers spend the majority of their time on the sales floor, specifically in the books, video, recreation and lifestyles department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyzes internal financial reports and creates methods to improve sales revenue.
* Financial Fiscal Responsibility of Sales Floor (Books, Video, Recreation and Lifestyles) - including labor & shrink
* Facilitates profitable inventory levels
* Achieves sales growth and maximum department profitability.
* Floor Manager would be salaried working 5 shifts. 3 of the shifts would be 'peak hour' shifts (mid or closing shifts)
* Support the Store Manager with day-to-day sales floor operations to achieve targeted productivity, sales, and profitability goals
* Maintain awareness of competitors and their promotions and offerings
* Train floor staff in serving customers and cross-selling
* Conduct weekly sales floor meetings
* Assist in personnel matters and discipline
* Handle associate and customer complaints in a satisfactory manner
Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED
* Previous management and training experience
* 3-4 years customer service experience
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Full-time availability required
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
