Modification Shop Mechanic - Full-time / Part-time

Position

This Company is seeking energetic and experienced individuals to fill the newly-created, full-time/permanent position of Modification Shop Mechanic. Reporting to the Modification Shop Manager, Modification Shop Mechanics will:

• Perform duties in all functions of Company Modification Shop as directed by the Manager
• Account for all hours worked
• Produce Modification Shop work, including Paint Booth work and facility maintenance as needed
• Perform quality work, individually and as a team member, with and without direct supervision
• Adhere to Company's policies and procedures
• Safely operate lift equipment working in and around the Modification Shop and Paint Booth
• Make economical use of tools, materials, parts, and supplies in the Modification Shop and Paint Booth
• Participate in and adhere to Company's safety and compliance programs
• Perform road calls utilizing a mobile service truck

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to work with steel, including cutting, burning, welding, and plasma cutting
• Minimum two years of experience in container modification, metalworking, or equivalent field
• Construction skills including carpentry and basic wiring
• Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and sit, stand, or walk for extended periods at a time
• Ability to work in Company's Spray Booth, including wearing and working with a respirator
• English proficiency
• Availability to work between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM weekdays, with additional hours on occasion
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) a plus
• Residence in or near Northern New Jersey, with driving privileges in good standing
• Passed pre-employment medical examination including drug and alcohol screening
