About this opportunity:

The Center Manager will be a bright and ambitious professional who is willing to work hard and change the way students view math. The ideal candidate must be detailed minded, have good follow through skills, be highly motivated and very enthusiastic. Candidates will utilize talents to manage the day-to-day operations of a Mathnasium Learning Center, including responsibility over sales, profit and loss, customer service, hiring/training staff, and in person marketing. Additionally, the Center Manager uses their business experience to lead the educational team to deliver the Mathnasium Method.  Center Managers generally work Monday through Thursday into the evenings and Saturday mornings during the school year and Monday through Friday during the summer. Additional hours will be required to fulfill all the requirements of this position. This is a salaried position with performance bonus and benefits.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the strategic direction of the company, the target customer and the competitive landscape and translate that understanding into promoting the business.

  • Fiscal management of the center, including achieving top line sales target, managing labor and expenses according to company expectations.

  • Selling the program in person, by email, and by phone; generating a steady stream of new enrollments.

  • Participate in local marketing events, foster collaborative relationships with local schools and organizations.

  • Strategic planning; evaluate center KPIs and implement effective measures to drive sales, improve team performance and enhance parent satisfaction.

  • Recruit, select, train and develop high energy, highly engaged instructors and build a high-performing team focused on quality education and service.

  • Ensure the Mathnasium Method is utilized for all student instruction. Teach and model appropriate instructor/student interactions. Develop rapport and create a fun learning environment.

  • Conduct student assessments while creating and monitoring learning plans according to students mastery level.

  • Meet with parents to review students progress throughout completion of their program.

  • Work in conjunction with the management team in developing ideas, solving problems creating strategies to drive sales.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 1+ years of related experience (sales or marketing), with a strong focus on building relationships.

  • Knowledge in Elementary Mathematics.

  • Four year degree preferred. Candidates without a degree but with outstanding experience will also be considered.

  • Candidates should possess basic sales skills which include, rapport building, active listening, assessing customer needs, recommending/presenting, overcoming conversational objections and closing.

  • Highly organized; managing multiple, concurrent priorities/projects with accuracy and sense of urgency. Ability to prioritize, organize, plan and work under own initiative.

  • Strong empathy, tact and diplomacy; interacts with and works cooperatively with students, parents and staff, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness to individual needs.

  • Excellent verbal communication and persuasive skills, with ability to build relationships.

  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

  • Working knowledge of CRM and Google Docs.
