Position Description:
The Fleet Resource leads the Supply Chain Fleet operations in an assigned geography (Michigan) by developing Fleet Capability, Reliability and Sustainability.
In the Fleet Resource role we are looking for a strong leader to join the Region Fleet Team.
The Fleet Resource must develop strong cross functional partnerships across all functions.
They must build and sustain strong business relationships with Sales Teams to provide a fleet of safe, reliable, efficient vehicles.
The role requires advanced business management skills and a strong technical understanding of fleet (or automotive) maintenance and repair.
The Fleet Resource will implement tactics and strategies to continuously improve the maintenance processes that support the Supply Chain.
This leader will maximize the Sales Fleet and the Over the Road Traffic Fleet performance.
This role is responsible for day to day fleet activity of over 1200 assets, shop maintenance, technician capability and engagement, and all related facets of Fleet Operations (i.e. asset planning, fuel conservation, vendor management, safety, productivity, project management, environmental management, financial performance, and controls).
In addition, the Fleet Resource will recruit and develop technicians throughout the geographies distribution centers, manage vendors/supplier relationships across Michigan and coach / influence the Sales and OTR drivers.
Key accountabilities include managing preventative maintenance programs, enabling training initiatives, national compliance and regional/national initiatives that impact the performance of the business in areas of cost, quality and reliability.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Degree preferably in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related major
Demonstrated leadership ability
Highly motivated self starter
Project management skills
Ability to work in an unstructured environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly
Ability to give/receive constructive feedback
Ability to lead a team based approach to decision making
Demonstrated ability to work in a results oriented, challenging environment
Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
Strong computer skills in MS Outlook, MS Excel, Fleet Management Systems (WCMS or CMMS), Business Objects, and MS Word
Bachelor's Degree and/or comparable management experience
Authorized to work in United States on a permanent basis
Must be 18 years of age or older
Willingness to work off shifts, weekends, & holidays
