Job Summary:
Under the direction of a supervisor, lead tech, or coordinator, and the clinical guidance of a Medical Technologist, starts IV's collects, processes, and distributes laboratory specimens and results. Performs limited waived laboratory testing on patient, quality control, and proficiency specimens, as assigned. May also help in transportation of patients to various locations throughout the hospital.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications
Licensure/Certification Nationally recognized phlebotomy certification preferred.
Education/ Registration : Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).
Experience:
One year phlebotomy experience to include infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric preferred . One year prior specimen processing experience preferred.
