Fleet Mechanic I

The Fleet Mechanic I will perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans and forklifts as directed by Fleet Manager.

Position Schedule:

This is a full time permanent position working our afternoon shift. Start time may fall between 12:00pm-1:00pm and lasting until 8:30pm-9:30pm. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends is required based on business needs.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Meet the maintenance demands of the Sales and Supply Chain functions and perform quality work at the lowest cost to minimize equipment downtime.
  2. Maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment.
  3. Knowledgeable in the following areas:
    • Preventative Maintenance
    • Electrical
    • Suspension
    • Brakes
    • Drive train
    • Cab and body
  4. Operate in a safe, well organized, and clean work environment (must be able to tolerate hot and cold temperatures depending on the season).
  5. Input data accurately and in a timely manner in to the DPS fleet maintenance software program (SAP EAM).
  6. Order and inventory parts.
  7. Adhere to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory compliance standards.
  8. The training and experience that comes from the following certifications will be utilized as part of the position responsibilities and will be required to achieve within the first year of employment with Dr Pepper Snapple Group:
    • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification for maintenance and inspection program
    • DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A)
    • DOT brake and annual inspection certification
    • Forklift Operator License

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 2 years of technical training or 1 year of fleet experience
  • Able to supply own set of tools
  • Willing and able to acquire the necessary certifications and licenses needed for the position within the first year of employment to include: ASE certification, DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL B), DOT brake and annual inspection certification, and Forklift Operator License
