About this job
The Receiving Supervisor will supervise the receiving of grapes and other fruits and vegetables. They will have data processing skills and be able to use computer equipment provided. This position requires proficiency in Inventory and Shipping procedures, must have good communication skills and be able to read and write English, and the ability to work in a cold environment from 30° f indoors to outdoor summer temperatures.
Essential Duties:
• Must be familiar with all areas of the cold storage.
• Accurately receive inbound product and create the appropriate pallet tags and issue receipts.
• Supervise the pre-check clerk and be able to verify all field receipts.
• Articulately communicate with all growers and field truck operators.
• Be knowledgeable of all varieties, packs, labels and box types of grapes and other products.
• Proficient in the use of Famous software
• Proficient in the use of the key central inventory system.
• Proficient in the use of portable scan guns.
• Coordinate with diesel forklift operator to unload inbound product.
• Ability to determine cooling capacity required on a daily basis.
• Supervise machine operators to ensure proper weight and condition of inbound product.
• Supervise forklift drivers to ensure proper pre-cooler loading.
• Must be a qualified as a sulfur dioxide applicator.
• Ability to determine how much sulfur dioxide is required for pre-cooling.
• Ability to operate the pre-coolers.
• Coordinate with the inventory supervisor to consolidate partial pallets throughout the receiving day.
• Ensure all receiving totals match grower field tickets.
• Coordinate with shipping to determine what daily shipping needs.
• Knowledge in all aspects of the shipping procedures.
• Knowledge in all aspects of the inventory procedures.
• Answer office telephones professionally and assist all callers.
• Follow all safety, food safety and food security guidelines.
• Professional dress and positive attitude.
• Knowledgeable of all forklift safety guidelines.
• Monitor performance and hours of employees.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, security and food safety guidelines.
• Interact with employees in the most professional manner with respect.
• Other duties as assigned.
