Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation is a not for profit corporation that exists to provide medical services, research and education. The foundation provides the infrastructure for the delivery of physician services, and contracts with a separate corporation comprised of physicians and other care providers to deliver the clinical services. This multi-specialty foundation will provide a platform from which new physicians can be recruited to continue to provide physician services in a nonprofit, community setting. The Infusion Technician is responsible for the delivery of infusion services to the Oncology Care Center. The Pharmacy Technician has responsibility for infusion systems, infusion procedures, distribution, assist with stock purchase and inventory control. Education: Maintains a valid registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of California.
Experience: One year experience as a Pharmacy Technician is desirable. Experience in IV admixture preparation, sterile technique, and outpatient dispensing is desirable.
Technical Skills : Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations and laws and regulations. Knowledge and understanding of different practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures. Knowledge of and the ability to carry out calculations for common dosage determination. Knowledge and understanding of the identification of medications, medication dosages, routes of administration, dosage forms, and storage requirements.
Knowledge: Understanding of contemporary pharmacy practice including pharmaceutical compounding (drugs and parenteral solutions), medical terminology, generic and trade names of common drugs, and familiarity with pharmacy data system.
