Summary: Serves as lead investigator during alarm incidents; Collects necessary information and completes investigation reports; Works with external partners to protect Company assets.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors a central station of electrical protective signaling equipment
- Responds remotely to alarm activations, such as unlawful intrusion, fires or property damage. Escalates alarms to police and fire department as needed
- Examines source of alarm and trouble signals as recorded in central station. Reports irregular signals for corrective action
- Observes live store activity, at any given time, to ensure safety of store personnel and customers; to determine if stores personnel are in compliance with Company policies and procedures
- Interprets coded audible or visible signals received on alarm signal board. Records signals, as needed
- Maintains operating knowledge of manual and computer systems utilized by the department
- Writes investigation reports, and completes necessary documentation in a timely manner
- Reviews videotape surveillance and gathers evidence regarding alarm incidences
- Coordinates activities with police and fire departments during alarms, as needed
- Supports stores/departments during system installs, upgrades and conversions
- Answers and responds to incoming calls requesting alarm system support and personal assistance
- May search, interpret, select and code documents and records
- May provide support to the store by communicating directly with store employees and/or troublesome individuals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years in Alarm Monitoring, Security or closely related experience
Skill Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise with Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues
- Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations
- Strong people skills with a positive, professional attitude
- Ability to function in a fast-paced team environment with continually changing priorities
- Ability to Multi-task in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
Other Requirements:
- This position requires 3rd shift, weekend, and holiday availability
