Summary

Oldcastle Precast is seeking a highly motivated and career oriented person to fill the Maintenance Supervisor position at our Rehoboth, MA plant. The Maintenance Supervisor manages two key areas in the Rehoboth plant, the form set-up/changeover millwright crew, and the preventive/reactive maintenance program for plant equipment and facilities. Total Maintenance crew size is 3-4 employees. The supervisor must be able to supervise his own as well as other maintenance technician work. Communication and coordination with production and sales personnel are key skills required to provide good service to internal/external customers. We are looking for a quality individual who will demonstrate leadership and be an asset to our organization, other job duties are listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule the millwright set-up process for steel formwork used to pour custom precast concrete
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
  • Review daily work orders for scheduling, planning and completion of work
  • Prepare for scheduled maintenance and coordinate efforts of both employees and external vendors
  • Responsible for planning/scheduling special projects in addition to preventive maintenance
  • Maintain good housekeeping within shop and all maintenance areas
  • Responsible for enforcement of basic safety rules
  • Take a leadership role in driving a safety culture where employees identify and mitigate safety risks before they occur
  • Manage spare parts and inventory system - order parts needed for special projects as well as regular maintenance supplies
  • Diagnose failing equipment through direct observation and through conversations with equipment operators responsible for daily inspections
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous planning, scheduling, and supervisory experience
  • Proficient in two or more of the following areas electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabrication
  • Ability to read plans, prints, and sketches and use those to direct fabrication or repair
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members(Bilingual a plus)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and technical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and have ability to learn the Oldcastle Preventive Maintenance program
  • Experience developing/administering training for maintenance staff
  • Ability to work overtime, odd and unscheduled hours as required and share on-call duties
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend or kneel for long and short periods of time
  • Ability to work at elevated heights of up to 85 feet and climb as needed
  • Ability to walk up and down elevated incline catwalks and stairs
  • Pre-employment drug screen required
  • Teamwork and problem solving skills are a must
