Packager Job Description:
Education and Experience
a. High School Diploma (technical school in addition to HS is preferred)
b. Basic computer skills (Ability to use the computer, printer and scanner
) c. Verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills required
d. Detailed oriented
e. Forklift experience
f. Work effectively in a team environment g. Lifting of over 50 pounds is required
Packaging Responsibilities
a. Receives orders from Operations Supervisor
b. Responsible for packaging drums and pails of petroleum based products from bulk containers or transports
c. Offload from transports or bulk tanks using pumps and hoses
d. Read and execute packaging procedures
e. Operate the drum filling machine and the pail filling machine
f. Inspect containers for defects (drums and pails)
g. Pull samples during packaging runs and bring them to the lab for testing
h. Apply labels to containers according to procedures
i. Complete packaging line checklists
j. Load finished packaged products onto trucks or into inventory using forklift
Ancillary Responsibilities
a) May be required to enter information into computer system, use the printer and scanner
b) Participate in safety and production meetings.
c) May be required to assist in other plant activities (blending, inventory management)
d) Inspect inbound materials and pull samples for laboratory testing
