Senior Business Analyst - Minnetonka, MN or Hartford, CT

Support short and long term operational / strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. The individual will spend majority of time working with business subject matter experts (SMEs) and IT system analysts. They will be responsible for working with SMEs to make sure there is a clear understanding of the business problem / opportunity and then write clear business requirements that define the problem / opportunity and business needs.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Elicit and analyze information for development of business requirements
Define and document / communicate business requirements
Develop and document medium to high complexity business workflows
Shared accountability in the creation of capabilities and features for agile delivery initiation
Support agile product owners in helping with the creation of user stories
Provide clear description of problems / issues for medium to high complexity problems
Present options for problem resolution
Contribute in developing organizational functional knowledge
Demonstrate subject matter expertise in his / her chosen functional / application area
Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
Serves as a key resource on complex and / or critical issues
Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement
May lead functional or segment teams or projects
Manage issues / questions related to the business requirements throughout the project lifecycle 
Work with their business counterparts on operational readiness activities to ensure that necessary training and policy and procedure updates have occurred
 

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
3+ years business analysis experience required
3+ years’ experience eliciting and documenting business requirements
3+ years’ experience working within an SDLC (system development life cycle) methodology
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:

Project management experience
Experience working in agile teams
