They are currently seeking someone to perform basic shipping/receiving functions in the yard (outdoor behind building) as well as work the parts counter when needed.
Job Duties:
This person will be responsible for two main functions....working in the yard and working behind the parts counter.
They will start out working in the yard. this is outside work. They will first learn about the different products the company sells and learn how they keep track of the inventory. They yard is where they store large parts as well as work on customer trucks that are brought in. In the yard, they will be responsible for utilizing a sit-down forklift to pull inventory as well as hand-stacking inventory that can weigh up to 70 lbs. Even in the winter time, they will be expected to work in the yard when needed.
Parts Counter: Once they learn the products better and gain a better understanding of the overall business, they will then sometimes help out with behind that parts counter. this is where customers can come in and buy parts direct from the shop. This involves giving good customer service and knowing which parts to pull and from where. In addition, they will learn how to use their computer system to track sales. This does not mean they will always be working the parts counter...they will work where needed most between the counter and the yard so this person needs to be comfortable working outside in the winter time.
In both functions, they will utilize a UPS inventory tracking system, which can be taught. It is a simple system.
Communication will be mainly with internal employees. the only external communication they will have will be with customers that come in to the parts counter.
