Northstar’s Lift Maintenance department is currently hiring both Mechanics and Electricians for full-time, year-round positions.

 

The Lift Maintenance - Electrician will perform assigned electrical and electronic maintenance and repair work on lifts, buildings, vehicles, and related facilities.

 

Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Work with low voltage controls and motor control of ski lifts.
  • To work day or night as needed and under all weather conditions.
  • To interface with other departments and be prepared to work outside of job description area when needed.
  • Required to track records of materials used and hours worked.
  • Must become familiar with the area (lifts and trails) and also know the functions of other departments.  Advises and assists guests as needed in a courteous manner.
  • Must become familiar with resort’s policies and guest service expectations.
  • Communicates problems to superiors, while showing initiative in handling routine matters and emergencies.
  • Continually remains vigilant to the needs of both the equipment and the guests and react to those needs in the safest manner while maintaining quality service. 
  • Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.

 

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  
  • Must be able to work day and swing shifts.

 

 

The Lift Maintenance - Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair on all assigned lifts.  This individual will interact professionally with the lift operations staff and assist with lift operations training. 

 

Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Follow companies safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • Assist with training of new Lift Maintenance personnel
  • Sets proper bearing clearances, reaming with drill press
  • Completes fixed and detachable lift service and terminal inspections
  • Performs tower work
  • Prepare assigned lifts for annual licensing inspections and be able to work as a lead on special projects
  • Applicant will be capable of working independently when needed as well as being an integral part of the Lift Maintenance team

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • 2 years specific experience in Lift Maintenance on Detachable lifts
  • 4 years proven competency in general mechanics
  • Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
  • Must have your own tools
  • Ability to perform duties while at heights comfortably
  • Ability to work outdoors in all high alpine winter/summer weather conditions
  • Schedule will include Weekends and Holidays
  • Fluent in all aspects of English language
