Responsibilities and Duties:● Support and assist Food Service Manager as needed.● Maintain quality control.● Deli merchandising.● Execute all deli store marketing tactics, this includes, but not limited to: correct signage and in-store sales.● Accountable for supporting the Food Service Manager in maintaining an inventory of merchandise that maximizes profitability.● Maintain safety, sanitation, food safety and security standards as set in company policies and standard restaurant practices.● Accountable for the accuracy of product labeling (date code, ingredients, barcode and price where applicable).● Accountable for deli shrink, working with the Food Service Manager to minimize waste.● Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with all members of the team.● Comply with prescribed operating and safety standards.● Excellent time management and organizational skills required with enthusiasm and initiative.● Prepare hot and cold food products.● Responsible for cleanliness, temperature control, and rotation of stock.● Weekly food service inventory control.● Be available to work various hours/shifts including holidays and weekends.General Job Duties/Housekeeping/Maintenance:● Keep all coolers, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted at all times with the correct merchandise.● Rotate stock in coolers so that the newest product is nearest you, and remove any stock that is out of date - move inventory from slower moving shelves to faster moving shelves to ensure all products are within their date range.● Maintain fountain drink equipment and ensure syrup boxes and Co2 containers are changed when necessary.● Maintain hot drink area by keeping all items stocked (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, serving utensils, etc.)● Rotate and date all inventory on the floor and in the storage rooms.● Maintain security.● Cleaning floors (sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, etc.)● Ensuring cooler temperatures are maintained● Cleaning shelves and other racks or display cases to maintain an environment that will encourage guests to return.● Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms during each shift.● Maintaining clean and organized cooler and freezer units.● Clean all windows, doors, and entry ways.● Empty trash inside and outside of the building during each shift.● Keep all equipment in clean working order.Requirements:● Become food handler certified.● Read, understand, and write the English language at an eighth grade level.● Perform arithmetic at the eighth grade level.● Read and understand operating instructions for cash registers and any other equipment that you may be required to operate.
