Job Title: Retail Merchandiser
Reports To: District Manager - Field Services
FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt/Part-Time

SUMMARY:

A Retail Merchandiser is a part-time employee that works on a project-to-project basis, individually and/or under the direction of a Team Leader. Merchandisers are responsible for setting retail store shelves and products according to Planogram (POG), setting marketing materials and display updates, new item introductions, new store set ups, full store resets/remodels, processing product returns, collecting data, auditing and maintaining new or existing service programs.

A Merchandiser must complete all assigned merchandising functions accurately and within the time parameters set forth by the Team Leader, Assistant District Manager, and/or District Manager. Work is performed at various customer retail store locations, while adhering to Footprint’s safety, productivity, quality, customer service standards and all Company policies and procedures.

PERFORMANCE AND / OR EDUCATION PREREQUISITES:

One plus years of retail merchandising experience required. Store operations and set crew experience a plus. Possess the ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results. Has a bias for action and continuous improvement.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

The ability to read, write and speak English at a high-school level. The ability to follow instructions, understand and implement retail-merchandising concepts. Customer service orientated. Good interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Detail orientated. Flexibility to client and/or store requests including work schedule. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to multiple store locations. Ability to manage own workload and multi-task under limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A: Computer literate with daily internet access and ability to access email

B: Adheres to all deadlines as assigned by the District Manager and/or other upper management

C: In-Store Field Services Requirements:
  • Pre-calls and schedules stores visits
  • Organizes and distributes planograms as needed
  • Executes profile and/or re-profile categories
  • Tagging/Labeling items
  • Sorts and distributes merchandise to various locations throughout store
  • Installs security fixtures
  • Ensures that work area is clean and safe
  • Ability to adjust pace and tasks as needed and possess the ability to work cooperatively with other employees and third parties
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions
  • Ability to follow and comprehend any adjustments made to the planogram

  • Ability to make decisions about proper safety
  • Ability to adhere to Footprint Uniform and physical appearance policies
  • Ability to complete appropriate paperwork and online data entry
  • Ability to manage the appropriate number of hours used to obtain goal objectives, ensures that all payroll hours and all other necessary information (survey data and/or store photos) are entered into the automated payroll system on a daily basis according to strict reporting timelines
  • Ability and willingness to be exposed to heights while on stools and/or ladders
  • Ability to communicate any problems, concerns or customer questions to the appropriate party
