We get health care right.Positions in this function are responsible for working on all aspects of billing and payment.Associate Billing Assistants interact with members gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies. This position offers the opportunity to join an emerging department that is working to dramatically improve the healthcare experience.Primary Responsibilities: Be driven by empathy and an ability to care about and connect deeply with othersPut member’s needs at the center of all decisionsFind success through service to others Possess creative problem solving skills  Have a “Get stuff done” attitudeBe unafraid of failure and be willing to grow and learn from experience Have tenacious energy with a desire to constantly reinvent yourself, your role, and the healthcare worldHave a belief that how we treat each other is as important as what we achieve Eager to try new things and divert from the plan when it makes senseBe flexible and nimbleSupport and educate Members regarding all questions and topics related to billing and invoicing.  Communicate with Members via electronic means individually as well as part of coordinated conversations with Membership Assistants and Health Coaches / Doctors located in clinic.Work closely with the larger Care Team to connect membership and money concerns with Member care in a seamless way that demonstrates coordination.Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the billing function. Work with internal teams and Members to gather support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies. Monitor outstanding balances and take appropriate actions to resolve any differences. Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables. May also include quality assurance and audit of billing activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED1+ year of Customer Service experience1+ year of billing or reconciliation experienceProficiency with Excel (date entry, general maneuvering, running filters, general table set-up) Available to work 40 hours per week anytime within the operating hours of the siteProficient English speakerPreferred Qualifications:Associate's Degree (or higher) in Business or AccountingKnowledge of healthcare and terminologyCareers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual. We all want to make a difference with the work we do.
