About this job

1. Job Summary

The Food Service Employee is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, promoting the “Easy to do Business With” philosophy, and embracing the “We Care” attitude of E. J. Pope & Son, Inc.

Each full or part-time employee is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of
their shift within company and any applicable franchisee policy.

3. Duties and Responsibilities

A. Personnel and Safety
1. Advises Manager if injured on the job - IMMEDIATELY. Helps ensure an incident
report is completed quickly and accurately. Advises Manager of any customer injuries-IMMEDIATELY. Helps ensure an incident report is completed quickly and accurately.
2. Keeps Manager aware of any personnel situations that may have an adverse effect
on the stores operations.
3. Advises Manager of any policy violations.
4. Does not empty trash or go outside after dark.
5. Ensures that all safety guidelines are implemented and adhered to.
6. Adheres to all Health Department and Franchise guidelines regarding food safety.
7. Keeps store floors clean at all time using “Caution Wet Floor” signs.

B. Excellent Customer Service:
1. Understanding and implementation of all aspects of hospitality.
2. Follows all guidelines regarding the Shine Program.
3. Operates shift within guidelines to achieve sales and profit.
4. Follows work schedule as posted, unless altered or approved by Store Manager.
5. Assist Store Manager in assuring the store maintains a “97 or above” Health Score.
6. Stays familiar with all products, equipment, bulletins and promotions.
7. Be able to act responsibly in case of a customer complaint, and make service recovery equal to the complaint. Inform Manager as soon as possible.







C. Cash and Inventory Control
1. Assumes the responsibility for controlling cash and inventory on shift.
2. Makes appropriate cash drops as required by management and franchise policy.
3. Assures that vendors are properly checked in.
4. Properly secures all monies when store closes.

D. Bookkeeping
1. Prepares any necessary shift reports.
2. Properly clocks in and outs as hours are worked.
3. Properly accounts for waste.

E. Maintenance
1. Checks refrigeration equipment temperatures during all shifts worked and documents when necessary.
2. Properly cleans and sanitizes all equipment during operating hours and at closing.
3. Cleans bathrooms as needed: to include toilets, urinals, sinks, floors, walls and baseboards.
4. Informs Store Manager of any maintenance issues with-in 24 hours.
