As a Customer Data Analytic Consultant you will be predominantly involved in creating and analyzing customer reports using Microsoft Office tools, as well as cutting edge technologies.  In this direct client-facing role, you will be a primary contributor in communicating the Optum value story by applying your knowledge of reporting processes from data constructs to customer outputs.
 
In this role you will develop a solid understanding of our business goals, objectives, metrics and deliverables.  You will have in-depth knowledge of data constructs, sources and be the conduit between the developers and the business stakeholders. Ensuring final reports have passed data quality checks is a critical part of this role. You will be the voice of the customer and transform data into information in a manner that helps draw conclusions and makes actionable recommendations.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Work directly with Optum external customers and internal support teams
Lead analysis, synthesis and reporting of the Customer's clinical and value measures with focus on identifying underlying issues and or emerging trends to drive action
Support reporting needs of internal and external customers
Learn the technical aspects of the data delivery processes
Manage external client data analysis and reporting
Develop a depth of understanding of the Optum clinical business processes sufficient to evaluate data and produce meaningful reports
Collaborate with cross functional teams to assist in the development and review of business requirements
Develop technical specifications and design for reporting applications
Actively participate in end-user testing of reporting applications and data marts
Create and maintain process documentation for all client specific reports
Consistently ask and answer the "so what" questions
Manage projects and drive work streams - balancing customer requirements with organizational production challenges, costs and turnaround time standards
Confidently Customer-facing: Can defend data, can take input/feedback, can consultatively say no by providing a range of alternatives, particularly those promoting the standard approach

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Data Analysis experience
1+ years of Healthcare industry experience
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
Solid understanding of project management principles and methodology
Preferred Qualifications:

Access, SQL experience
