The ALL NEW Courtyard by Marriott, in Edgewater, NJ is seeking a hands on dynamic Assistant General Manager with a strong operational background. This person will be responsible for the day to day operation of the hotel with an emphasis on associate and guest relations, development of people, financial results and quality assurance. We are looking for self-starters with a proven track record of meeting budgets, an understanding of

P & L statements and cost/inventory control.

The Assistant General Manager's primary responsibility will be to ensure excellence in guest service while overseeing all Front Office, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping and Engineering functions.

This is a Full Time Position

Job Requirements:

Practices a hands-on and engaging to leadership style and holds team members accountable. Determines processes that identify and resolve problems and improve the guest experience. Performing technical and administrative duties including writing and reviewing reports (Profit and Loss statements, yield management, capital planning, payroll, etc. ), monitoring department checkbooks, ordering inventory, and conducting associate reviews. Interviewing, hiring, coaching and counseling department managers in the efficient operation of their respective areas. Assisting in the associate orientation and position on-boarding process. Monitoring of staff to ensure the adherence to established policies and procedures; delegation of duties; property inspections; and willingness and ability to engage in effective communication with corporate staff and property owners. Communicating clearly in written and verbal forms with the ability to present concepts and ideas to management, peers, and associates. Lead by example to build morale and teamwork engagement. Communicates goals and objectives and inspires associates to achieve those goals.

Qualifications

Additional Requirements:

Supervisory experience in the hotel industry a must Highly motivated and results oriented individual with strong leadership skills Previous experience with Marriott and Fosse highly preferred Strong budgetary, projections and cost control skills Excellent time management skills Strong organizational skills Strong customer service orientation and skills Creative problem identification and resolution skills Experience making presentations and leading group discussions Must be ServeSafe certified within 60 days of employment
