Friendship Home is a nonprofit organization in Norwell, MA that boasts a unique overnight respite program that runs on the weekends. At Friendship Home, we are here to support and enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

At Friendship Home, our direct support professionals must be passionate! Our staff ensure a safe and caring environment, while also encouraging guests to have a truly fun weekend in our beautiful "home with a heart." Overnight respite staff assist and guide guests with daily hygiene, cooking skills, and general independent living skills. Our staff also have the privilege of going out to dinner for a night sure to be full of laughs, and attending fun outings to fairs, festivals, seasonal activities, and many other activities. Respite staff even get to enjoy our monthly theme parties. The possibilities to watch our guests flourish and simply enjoy life are endless; our direct support staff are the ones who facilitate that!

We are currently looking for part time weekend staff with shifts that cater to those who already have weekday jobs or are furthering education.  

Our ideal candidate can:

•   Assure a safe environment for guests
•   Assist in daily activities including personal care and hygiene cueing
•   Plan fun and meaningful activities
•   Manage and prioritize multiple tasks
•   Participate in trainings and staff meetings
•   Maintain log notes and case records for guests
•   Lift at least 50 lbs and move without restriction

Our ideal candidate has:

•  A high school diploma
•  Valid driver's license
•  Open, flexible, and outgoing attitude
•  Willingness to be a role model in abilities focused model for guests
•  Ability to work well with our guests, their families, and coworkers
