This is an exciting role in the Back Office & In-Aisle portfolio at The Home Depot.  We are looking for a developer who will be responsible for development and maintenance of software applications. This position will work closely with the BOIS IT team to ensure the success of projects and activities assigned. Candidate will be enhancing/maintaining the applications used at The Home Depot stores.  These systems cover many areas such as receiving, ordering, merchandising, safety, markdowns, loss prevention and customer service spanning multiple technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-

  • Experience providing customer support
  • Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting production issues
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment where change is constant
  • Experience in agile and waterfall development methodologies
  • Java development with focus on web development (JSP, Servlet, JMS, JDBC, J2EE Security)
  • Understanding of standard web frameworks and languages (HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Angular)
  • Knowledge of standard web service development frameworks and methodologies (REST, Websockets, SSL certificates)
  • Experience with standard SQL against DB2/UDB, Oracle, Informix, or SQLServer
  • Mobile development experience
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) required
  • Knowledge of retailing business a+

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.

Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.

Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.

Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.

Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.

NATURE AND SCOPE -

Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.


EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
