POSITION PURPOSE
The Selling Sales Manager is responsible for hiring, training and managing Sales Consultants in assigned sales area or region. The role also includes developing and maintaining relationships with Home Depot Store Management and Associates. The Selling Sales Manager role also includes generating leads and selling At-Home Services products and services while developing and maintaining relationships with Home Depot Associates.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Recruit, hire, train and prepare performance appraisals for new Sales Consultants. Engage in performance management practices in order to enhance sales performance (e.g. ongoing training, reviewing appointment results and performing 'ride alongs' with the Sales Consultants).

Ensure the store program is being followed by performing store walks, attending store meetings and communicating best practices with Sales Consultants and other Store Managers

Ensure overall sales performance improves each month with quarterly forecasts, Monthly Business Reviews and Action Plans by working with the Sales Consultants, including monitoring each performance metric on a daily basis.

Conduct effective and professional presentations at customer's homes to make sales

Directly generate additional leads. Work with the Home Depot stores to enhance the quality of leads generated from the stores by developing relationships with Store Managers and Associates. Should spend no more than 20% of the Associate's work week in the Home Depot store.

NATURE AND SCOPE
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Age – 18
Must Pass a Drug Test

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or G.E.D.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 1 yr

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Must pass drug test. Must pass pre-employment tests, if applicable.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle. Must be flexible to work nights, holidays and weekends.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
Familiar with Microsoft Office products
Prior experience in the home improvement industry
Prior sales experience
Experience locating and hiring sales people, and basic knowledge of human resources practices.
Prior experience building and managing a sales team

Able to work as part of a team and provide leadership / direction
Proven recruitment experience
Conduct effective sales presentations in customer's homes, as required
Commitment to meeting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
