Buyer with material inventory and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment wanted for established aerospace / Defense company with facilities in the Coachella Valley. The Buyer purchases maintenance, repair, raw materials and other supplies and services required for company operations. This is a full time direct hire position. Shift hours: 4-10 (4 days per week 10 hours per day). Full benefits. Great opportunity with a respected, successful aerospace contractor in the Coachella Valley.

Buyer - Principal Duties 

  • Generate production schedules
  • Order materials in a timely manner to support production
  • Monitor production schedules against sales commitments
  • Update Syteline ERP system
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders about customers, schedules, and material issues
  • Provide support on special production and R&D
  • Forecast requirements, contractual/regulatory issues, supplier performance
  • Identify and vet alternate suppliers
  • Resolve supplier non-conformances
  • Manage and validate requirement for the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) report
  • Monitor inventories to ensure adequate supplies
  • Review purchase requisitions
  • Prepare RFQs and review supplier bids
  • Perform price analysis documentation on larger purchase orders
  • Deal with suppliers on price, delivery schedules, shortages, quality, etc.
  • Maintain records for items purchased and resolve A/P and receiving issues
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards – Even if pressured by superiors

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • REQUIRED: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien Status
  • Minimum Two years of material inventory and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with lean material management a plus
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment and repair parts
  • Familiar with FAR/DAR
  • Familiar with ITAR/Export Control
  • Knowledge of industry suppliers and capabilities preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret scheduling reports and work orders
  • Experience with ERP systems, Syteline preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently
