The Manager Online Copywriting creates and manages content for HomeDepot.com and other Home Depot properties. Through collaboration with the core groups associated with HomeDepot.com, such as Creative Services, Online Marketing and Online Merchandising, this position plays a key role in content strategy and its role in supporting HomeDepot.com enterprise-level initiatives. The Manager Online Copywriting has an indept understanding of online user experience, search engine optimization, web analytics and Home Depot's brand's voice and style. You should be comfortable collaborating with other creative professionals in a collegial environment, but also be able to carry a project to completion independently.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- 25% Leads cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams consisting of internal and external resources to achieve stated goals for editorial-related projects
- 25% Establishes and maintains the Home Depot's brand / tone/ voice through multiple channel communications - 20% Advises and develops effective messaging in multiple channels (web, mobile, print, video, social, etc.).
- 10% Analyzes metrics to maintain effective and relevant content
- 10% Manages workflow through Content Management Systems
- 10% Contributes to the development of the online creative culture and quality standards while providing quality assurance of deliverables

- Position reports to Online Editor in Chief or Sr Dir, Customer Experience
- Number of direct reports - 8

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eighteen years of age
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

EDUCATION REQUIRED
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 06

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or Five years agency or in-house brand experience
- Prior experience leading a team composed of designers, developers and writers
- Seasoned experience writing for interactive applications
- Thorough knowledge of SEO writing techniques
- Basic proficiency with html and web-related software

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent copywriting and copyediting skills.
- Proven ability to translate requirements of a major brand into customer-focused messaging.
- Ability to deliver against tight deadlines, but also be able to work independently on maintenance projects during down time.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in market-driven, retail creative environment.
- Experience with social media style and applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
