The Gainesville Sun is currently seeking Part-Time Inserters to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.
- 1st shift hours usually work 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.;
- 2nd shift hours are usually between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.;
- 3rd shift hours are usually between 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Part-time inserters usually work 4 days/week, and 6-7 hours/day – up to 28 hours/week.
These positions require the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, spend a lot of time standing or walking, and the ability to routinely lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Applicants that are hired will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, and have suitable work and criminal record histories. Must be at least 18 years old.
We train our team to run an inserter machine that puts coupons, comics and other inserts into the newspapers, as well as how to work on other machines related to newspaper distribution. With experience, some may also learn to assist with routine and emergency repairs.
