Quality Control / Inventory Control Clerk

Our client, a Specialty Manufacturer in Westfield, has asked for our help finding a Quality Control/Inventory Control Clerk. Our associate will inspect incoming materials measuring for conformance to specifications using instructional detail, technical data, and other criteria set forth by management. He/she will capture and report quality data and assist with corrective actions, as necessary. He/she also will monitor, verify and document inventory levels of stock materials and finished goods, ensuring adequate quantities are maintained to fill orders.  In addition, he/she will assist with putaway, pick/pack, and purchasing activities.

To be considered for this opening, candidates should have the following abilities:
 Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
 Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
 Ability to communicate with associates and possibly vendors on-site at installation locations or at vendor locations.
 Ability to competently use precision measuring equipment.
 Ability to read purchase orders and drawings and determine measurable specifications
 Advanced mathematical skills to calculate tolerances and stack-ups on drawings.
 Advanced PC proficiency utilizing MAS, Microsoft Office, and ability to input detailed and accurate data.
 Knowledge of manufacturing processes, basic engineering principles, simple mechanics, and basic quality principles.
 Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision when required.
 Ability to multitask.
 Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and an ability to apply them.
 Basic understanding of tooling, forming, and machining processes.
 Ability to work additional hours beyond eight hours per day and weekends, as required.

This is a contract assignment beginning immediately and lasting through October. If business needs warrant, and our associate meets and exceeds our client''s expectations, our associate could be hired by our client when the contract ends. They have done so in the past. The salary is $14.00-$15.00 per hour.
