The Vice President, Acute Nursing is responsible for facilitating the design and implementation of the delivery of patient care, recommending strategies to improve services and clinical outcomes, reaching established goals, maintaining satisfactory outcomes and contributing to the profitability of the organization. They will be responsible and have accountability for the oversight and execution of the home infusion nursing products, programs, and services provided by AxelaCare.
 
This role is a thought leader for acute (i.e. home infusions such as parenteral nutrition, inotropes, anti-infectives, etc.) based nursing services. Accountable for establishing clinically compliant best practices and programs, ensure training of all acute nursing personnel to these standards, and measuring operational compliance via dashboards and audits as necessary. Establish all protocols and SOPs for interacting with Home Health Nursing Agencies. Establish productivity and staffing standards to both optimize patient experience / satisfaction and reduce overtime attributable to nursing services.
 
This position will exercise considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge to solving complex nursing and business problems within established policies and practices. The position will be expected to create a positive, collaborative work environment, ensure that operations comply with established standards and regulations and provides guidance to staff and acting as a resource to colleagues.
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Comprehensive oversight of branch-based acute nursing to include productivity, performance and training

Creation and oversight of policies, procedures and best practices related to nursing patient care

Develops and maintains programs for auditing, inspections and standards of care

Works closely with the Regional Nurse Managers to maintain operational rhythm between the acute infusion nursing and immune globulin (Ig) nursing

Leads regular nurse groups/meetings to ensure current regulations, training and new drug information is disseminated effectively to the staff

HR functions to include interviewing and selection of nurse leadership (i.e. directors of nursing, nurse managers), performance reviews, and evaluations

Travel as needed approximately 25% (75% if not in Lenexa, KS)
 
 
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 


Current and unrestricted RN license in the state you reside

5+ years of direct, hands-on Nursing experience

3+ years of Home Infusion experience

5+ years of management experience within a healthcare environment

1+ years experience managing geographically dispersed groups

Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of clinical standards of practice

Exceptional communication skills/professional presence with ability to lead and drive change on a national scale

Operational performance management include use of metrics to measure performance

BSN required; Master’s Degree preferred 
Preferred Qualifications:


Experience managing vendor relationships: i.e. home health Nursing agencies

Budgeting and cost containment experience

Accreditation experience: knowledge of policies/practices to maintain requirements
