Optum is enhancing an integrated business services solution to maximize quality of care, gap closure and member and provider satisfaction, while driving appropriate revenue and limiting member and provider abrasion.  This has been designed as a web based solution combined with rich analytics which brings transparency to quality measurement, diagnosis coding, risk and engagement/campaign metrics and performance analytics.
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them

Strong hands-on experience with Java; full stack development

Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents software, and enhances existing components to ensure that software meets business needs

Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable and maintainable software and should be able to clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions issues and plans to technology leadership

Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will enhance team velocity

Deploy and maintain Applications/Systems

Work with a team of software engineers for one or more Agile scrum teams assigned to work on the project

Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, mentoring, and software engineering best practices to junior software engineers

Collaborate on the design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside the scrum team

Estimate engineering work effort for engineering team and effectively identify and prioritize the high impact tasks

Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security and scalability and maintainability guidelines 

Required Qualifications:


5+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle experience

5+ years of experience working as a Java developer

5+ years of experience developing applications using databases such as Oracle or SQL Server

Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Eclipse, Hibernate, and JUnit

Experience designing applications for scalability and high concurrent performance
Preferred Qualifications:

Healthcare industry experience
Extensive SQL skills
Hands-on experience with AngularJS
Agile experience
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
