As a Manager IT, you would be involved in management and administration of multiple IT Functions, or managing general operations which are not specific to one IT Function.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinate, supervise, and is accountable for the daily activities of business support, technical or production team or unit
Impact of work is most often at the team level
Owns output at task level
Work is generally limited to own function
Complete assigned, complex or long-term projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion
Coordinate work activities with other supervisors
Develop plans to meet short-term objectives
Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment
Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan
Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact individual employees and/or customers (internal or external)
Performs project evaluation and cost-benefit analysis
Must be familiar with system development life cycle for managing systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member
Generally responsible for all work requirements on a major project(s)
Assess performance, reward results, motivate and foster matrix management
Direct team to complete projects on time, within budget
Delegate, integrate activities and resolve conflicts
Manage overall work of 5 to 12 IS and business professionals in multiple work groups
Quality assurance review and evaluation and documentation of team procedures
Developed in coordination with Optum Technology SSMO & ETS leadership, UHC Technology Cost Management now reviews all requests for incremental infrastructure environments and SSMO Labor
Volume and complexity of requests necessitate the dedication of a full-time staff member to support the new request process.
This position will manage and support the workflow in coordination with Optum Technology and UHC Business teams validate the requirements
Workflow steps include review of: technology fit to strategic road map, technology selected is lowest costs alternative, connection of costs to UHC Business Case / Benefit case which supports the incremental costs, and connection back to future UHC technology forecasts

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher level of education or equivalent experience
4+ years of IT project management experience
4+ years of business analysis experience
Experience with IT Systems Cost Management
Preferred Qualifications:

Healthcare experience
Claims Platform experience
Pharmaceutical experience
Experience with MS Visio
