Software Engineer

The Application Development Team at Advantage Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) team. If you are a full stack developer who enjoys working on a small team to tackle back office and enterprise-wide challenges, then we would love to hear from you. We are an agile team that works on a wide variety of custom applications including mapping systems, electronic signature applications, retail signage creation systems, asset tracking applications, custom reporting tools, messaging systems, and much more. Our diverse backlog of projects and tasks will allow the right person for this position to experiment in new technologies, develop team standards & frameworks, grow our portfolio, and increase our user base (internally and externally).

Software development is the primary duty of the position along with involvement in requirements gathering, testing, post launch support, and continuous improvements. The application development group works closely as a team, and this position plays a key role in the success of the department.

JOB DUTIES:

• Design Solutions – Working with stakeholders and business analysts
• Develop Web Applications – Designing and coding solutions
• Test Web Applications – Unit testing and working with QA
• Deploy Web Applications – Code deployment and working with infrastructure team
• Maintain Web Applications – Post release support and updates
• Research and Development – Continuous learning and evolution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• At least one-year development experience using:
• .Net
• C#
• HTML
• JavaScript
• CSS
• MVC
• Visual Studio
• Familiarity with the following is a plus:
• Angular
• JQuery
• T-SQL
• Bootstrap
• REST

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
(Preferred): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction or other related discipline

1 or more years experience:
• .Net, C#, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, MVC, Visual Studio

Additional experience a plus:
• Angular, JQuery, T-SQL, Bootstrap, REST

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Motivated to learn, experiment, and use the latest web technologies
• Positive attitude with a desire to solve problems
• Familiar with the stages of the software development lifecycle
• Knowledge of web security best practices
• Team player who is comfortable partnering with business departments
• Troubleshooting and debugging skills in relation to web applications
• Comfortable context switching and shuffling priorities based on business needs
• Poses a sense of pride and confidence in regards to authored code

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
