Manage, and support contracting efforts for non-technology indirect spend categories as assigned (e.g. marketing, human capital, legal, finance, etc.)
Review, develop, redline, and negotiate third-party supplier contracts, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and amendments in cooperation with legal, internal stakeholders and external business partners
Negotiate rates, value adds, service level agreements (SLAs) and other legal and business terms
Develop impactful SLAs or key performance indicators (KPIs) for a supplier’s services
Translate emerging opportunities and business requirements into legal and business terms
Partner with Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement (ES&P) peers, Legal, Information Risk Management, Finance and UnitedHealth Group’s business units to minimize and mitigate risk
Develop value-added supplier partnerships that will minimize cost and risk while maximizing service quality
Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders to support business growth, enable revenue growth opportunities, and drive expense reductions
Work collaboratively with procurement strategy team to identify and support emerging opportunities and to translate into sourcing strategies and action plans
Support category management, sourcing and contracting efforts in assigned areas
Create project plans to manage and execute on all contracting initiatives as needed
Conduct supplier market research, benchmarking and spend analysis as needed
Contribute to the development of annual supplier cost reduction plans and assume responsibility for meeting or exceeding the established goals
Ensure compliance with all government regulations and internal policies and procedures
Identify diverse supplier sourcing opportunities and support related initiatives
Partner with internal ES&P staff to deliver effective reporting as required

Requirements


Required Qualifications:

Business or related undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience 
5+ years of Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Negotiation, Contract Management or Drafting experience
Contract management, drafting, development, redlining and negotiation experience
Ability to identify risk and contract around it appropriately
Experience with competitive sourcing (RFx) development and management
Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated ability to achieve targeted, positive outcomes and results
Ability to manage and influence change
Ability to build and maintain relationships with business owners
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects and tasks, and effectively prioritize work
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience with MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or JD 
Experience with Ariba and PeopleSoft
Knowledge of the healthcare industry
