JOB TITLE: Catering Service Specialist SUPERVISOR TITLE(S): General Manager of Catering Hub FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt LEVEL: Hourly Retail Associate JOB SUMMARY: Point of contact for catering customers; handles all incoming calls, follow-up calls and database maintenance calls. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Answers phone and uses appropriate phone etiquette; delivers exceptional customer service over the phone • Builds relationships by gaining trust with Clients and is viewed as the Catering Expert • Builds the Catering Business by asking for referrals from clients and aligning with the RCSM to share opportunities • Responsible for all order taking • As the Catering Expert, makes recommendations and is effective in suggestive selling • Single point of contact for all Catering Clients • Conducts effective confirmation and follow up calls with Clients • Resolves Client issues to ensure repeat business • Focuses on inside sales building through strategic Care calls to Clients • Develops customer relations • Liaison between the Client and the hub management team/hub production team • Maintains customer database and ensures information accuracy • Actively participates in sales blitz meetings and other inside sales building activities • Communicates needs to the management staff for upcoming large catering events • Organizes future orders and files orders into the proper date files • Works closely with the RCSM MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Cashier responsibilities • Very comfortable in building Client relations over the phone • Makes on-site visits with catering Clients • Assists with delivery for first time Client or to reconnect with current Clients • Performs POFs on delivery drivers EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED an equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered. • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Some food service and/or prior sales experience preferred • Prior catering experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. • Excellent customer relations skills • Excellent Communications aptitude-both verbal and written • Conflict resolution and problem solving expertise • Basic computer knowledge • Proficiency in Excel and MS Word • Ability to maintain a database • Skilled in inside sales techniques • Ability to handle 300-400 calls per week EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM THE JOB which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. • Computer and printer • Phone WORK ENVIRONMENT Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. • Exposed to moderate noise levels • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions PHYSICAL ABILITIES that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Requires regular sitting, hearing, reaching with hands/arms and repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement • Requires frequent talking and hearing • Frequently required to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds • Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less • Requires frequent attention This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate occupying this position.
