Director of Housekeeping

Hotel Overview: Known as the islands only all-suite oceanfront resort, the hotel is situated on Polo Beach in the world-class, master-planned destination of Wailea, on the south western coast of Maui. Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
Lead the Housekeeping team in providing exceptional guest service and cleanliness while driving colleague satisfaction
Provide ongoing professional development, growth and job satisfaction to all members of the team
Manage effective staff planning, selection, training and development strategies
Address all guest comments or concerns
Plan, organize and implement all projects for guest rooms and public areas
Ensure an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment
Ensure the departments' monthly financial obligations are met
Assist with the preparation of the annual department budget process and the development of hotel wide strategic goals and plans
Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times and that all colleagues are committed to working safely
Actively participate in the hotel's environmental program and department specific initiatives in working toward sustainable operations
Coordinate preventative maintenance programs with the Engineering department
Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
P revious experience as a Director of Housekeeping, preferably in a luxury hotel
Ability to analyze data and trends and create strategies for improvement
Strong administration and organizational skills are required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
Results oriented with the ability to adapt to the challenges of a continually evolving workforce, while remaining flexible and working under pressure
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
Frequent walking and standing throughout shift
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
Occasional bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements: Must already be legally permitted to work in the United States.
