Maintenance Mechanic - Full-time

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic inspects drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic assembles, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
• The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic diagnoses mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Inventory control, stocking, quoting, and replenishment activities
• Other duties may be assigned for the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 4 or more years experience in a maintenance position within a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit.
• The employee is regularly required to use hands to feel or handle tools, objects and controls.
• The employee is occasionally required to lift or move up to 75 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Additional Skills and /or Abilities:

• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills.
• Ability to weld and use acetylene torches
• Fabrication Skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Proven track record in working safely
• Ability to work unsupervised, and a self-starter.

The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is rarely exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
