The General Electrician (Industrial) is responsible for keeping plant equipment and facilities operationally efficient with regard to electrical/mechanical repair, working order and in constant production mode at all times by ensuring that individual components are functioning properly and that the components of the overall production system are communicating properly. Base rate compensation is based on skills and experience.

Work Shift:

This position is a night shift position that works the same shift pattern on night shift from 5:45pm – 6:00am with rotating days of the week. The shift pattern is known as a “2 2 3” rotation that provides every other weekend off. (Example: Mon & Tue work; Wed & Thu off; Fri Sat Sun work; Mon & Tue off; Wed & Thu work; Fri Sat Sun off). Overtime may be necessary dependent upon business needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform PLC and systems troubleshooting using various languages.
  • Troubleshoot network communications.
  • Troubleshoot and make electrical/mechanical repairs to all process, packaging, utility, and building equipment as necessary with minimal down time.
  • Ensure all electrical/mechanical safeguards of plant equipment are installed as required to conform to all regulations, company, state and federal.
  • Be willing to work with and learn from more experienced Maintenance Associates and actively consult resources (associates, manuals, training department, policies, etc.) in order to become proficient and expand knowledge base.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner which enables the employee to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management, including dealing with stressful situations.
  • Work with little or no supervision by consulting instructions or other alternative sources of information (associates, manuals, standard operating procedures, vendors, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Experience in drawing basic line to line diagrams and reading prints and schematics to troubleshoot circuitry issues is required.
  • 3 years maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing is required.
  • PLC experience is required.
  • Experience utilizing PLC systems to trouble shoot equipment is preferred.
  • Associates Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
