Warehouse Receiver - Full-time / Part-time

Hale and Hearty Soups operates a soup manufacturing and distribution facility in E. Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The RECEIVER'S job is to insure that merchandise is unloaded from incoming trucks. The Receiver must count all merchandise and compare the actual count to the purchase order/invoice. The Receiver must inform the Commissary Manager of any discrepancies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- insure the accurate and seamless reception and processing of incoming shipments
- checking incoming merchandise against invoices or orders to spot quantity discrepancies and damaged goods, and inspect the quality and condition of the merchandise
- sort and distribute (stock) incoming shipments
- manage inventory of materials and supplies
- prepare receiving dock to accept incoming product
- verify received product expiration dates
- operate equipment or machinery in a safe and responsible manner
- maintain a safe work environment
- process all required paperwork and maintain adequte records for reporting
- maintain open and frequent communication with the Commissary Manager at all times
- keep inventory tidy and organized at all times
