A successful Building Engineer will have the following:

  • High School Diploma; Technical or Trade School apprenticeship that includes theory and on-the-job training
  • 5+ Years’ experience as HVAC Tech or Building Engineer in a commercial, industrial or large facilities environment
  • Ability to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades
  • Ability to take direction from Facilities Management Team 
  • Ability to work late hours 8pm - 4.30am Monday through Friday

DISH Facilities team is currently looking for a highly motivated Building Engineer.

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Maintains quality control of HVAC and mechanical contractors: must have knowledge of HVAC systems (Building Automation, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, ventilation systems, air conditioning air handlers, heat pumps and hydronic systems/components within a corporate office and datacenter environment)
  • Facilitates the Energy Management System (EMS) and HVAC controls and  incumbents monitor. Adjusts the full range of heating, cooling, ventilation, and equipment by means of an energy management system. Monitors and adjusts computer based EMS program for proper HVAC comfort and energy management control
  • Evaluates and analyzes HVAC and Life Safety building problems and makes adjustments as necessary. Dispatches outside contractors as needed in emergency situations
  • The Building Engineer coordinates the execution of all activities related to the maintenance of the facility, building and grounds (some snow removal may be required)
  • Maintains all records associated with the corrective maintenance of the facility equipment
  • Monitors and completes shift general maintenance work requests (Plumbing repairs, lighting, furniture, and general maintenance tasks). Audits the procurement processes of materials, tools or equipment required to execute maintenance activities. Assists and serves as back up to other Facilities employees
